She wanted to be saved,
from all the misery and all the pain.
From all those tears that kept her awake,
so much so that her body could not take.

Sleep deprived, she craved for relief,
hoping and praying against every belief.
Tears kept rolling down her cheeks,
as she tried to forget every moment of grief.

The storm raging in her heart,
threatened to break her soul apart.
The worst was not knowing what bothered her,
depression did finally occur.

She looked around to share her secret,
no one was ready to see her weakness.
She learned to plaster a fake smile,
with the lost twinkle of her eyes.

Time passed and she continued living,
her heart in pain but still giving.
She hoped that very soon a day would come,
either life would win or to death, she would succumb.

Shattered Soul

When your heart aches,
Your soul and spirit breaks.
You lose hope, you lose everything,
And every dream ceases to exist.

Everything starts seeming like a black hole,
There is no in and there is no out.
You try, you look for help,
But then there is no one to tell.

You begin to doubt if you will ever be loved,
And then someone sees through the façade and wants to be your beloved.
You don’t believe it so you protect yourself,
Tha pain, the anguish, you hide it all quite well.

And no matter where you go,
Love still finds you.
As you begin to embrace the light,
Sorrow turns into delight.

A new journey begins,
And life takes an exciting turn.
The heart and the soul find peace,
And finally, the pain is released.

Letting Go…

An old house, a broken road,
Among the four, she was always alone.
She struggled, she fought, she learned it all.
As they plotted for her fall.

While she sweat and her family suffered,
There were many who sniggered and chuckled;
They made fun of her painful distress,
As she worked hard on the road to progress.

They went after her prized possessions,
Trying to ridicule her family with selfish obsessions.
She stood strong, blocking it all away,
As they watched shocked at their prey.

Then came success and splendour,
Beginning the waiting list of pretenders;
Though they knew that she had won,
They inflicted pain and hurt, one by one.

She forgave them for they were family,
Alas, they continued to cause her pain severely.
At last, she realized she could not bear the torture,
She broke all relations and vowed for no more.

Her life changed,
It changed for the better;
A tear, a smile and a lesson she learned,
And with respect & happiness, she was finally adorned.
